Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a learned Swiss monk of the 9th century, was born at Coira, studied at Fulda under Rabanus Maurus, and became teacher in the Monastery of St. Gall, where he lied, May 24 (or 29), 884. He was the author of some musical treatises and commentaries, for which see Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
