1. The great-grandfather of the prophet Zephaniah (Zephaniah 1) 2. The son of Azariah, who was high priest-in Solomon's temple (1 Chronicles 5:37). According to Ezra, 7:3, he was an ancestor of his. In I Esd. 8:2, and II Esd. 1, 2, he is called Amarias. 3. The great-great-grandfather of Azariah (1 Chronicles 6:7,52). 4. One of the signatories to the covenant under Nehemiah (Nehemiah 10:3). 5. A Judahite ancestor of Athaiah living in Jerusalem in the time of Nehemiah (Nehemiah 11:4). 6. A priest who returned from the captivity with Zerubbabel (Nehemiah 12:2,13). 7. A son of Hebron and grandson of Kohath the Levite (1 Chronicles 23:19, 24:23). 8. A priest who was put in charge of religious affairs in Judah by Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 19:11). 9. A Levite appointed by Hezekiah as assistant to Kore, who was stationed at the east gate of the Temple, and had charge of the free-will offerings to God (2 Chronicles 31:15). 10. A man of the sons of Bani who had taken a foreign wife (Ezra, 10:42).
