The ruler of the synagogue at Corinth, who became a Christian, with all his house, through the preaching of Paul (Acts 18:8). In one of his letters to the church at Corinth (1 Corinthians 1:14), Paul speaks of Crispus as one of those whom he had baptized. There is a tradition that Crispus became such an important factor in the early Church that he was ordained Bishop of Ægina ("Apost. Const." 7:46).
