Hethlon

The 1901 Jewish Encyclopedia

Place referred to in Ezekiel (47:15, 48:1); situated on the northern boundary of Israel as ideally projected by that prophet, who stated the place to be in the neighborhood of Hamath and Zedad. Furrer (in "Z. D. P. V." 8:27) identifies Hethlon with the modern Ḥaitalah, northeast of Tripoli; and Von Kastern, followed by Bertholet and Buhl, identifies it with 'Adlun, north of the mouth of the Ḳasimiyyah (Hastings, "Dict. Bible"; Buhl, "Geographie des Alten Palästina," p. 67).
