Ibn Nuñez, Jacob

The 1901 Jewish Encyclopedia

Physician to King Henry IV. of Castile and his chief judge ("juez mayor"); also rabbi, as he calls himself. In 1474 hewas commissioned by the king to apportion at Segovia the taxes which the "aljamas" of the Jews in all the king's dominions had to pay annually. These taxes were not collected by Ibn Nuñez, but by the royal tax-collectors to whom Ibn Nuñez applied for that purpose.
