Jacob bar Abina (Abin; Bun)
The 1901 Jewish Encyclopedia
Palestinian amora of the fourth century. He is known as having transmitted the haggadot of Samuel b. Naḥman, Abbahu, and Abba b. Kahana (Eccl. R. 1:5). Jacob is reported to have had a heated controversy with R. Jeremiah on the question of the payment of taxes to the Roman government (Yer. M. Ḳ. 3:1).
