hem´dan ( חמדּן , ḥemdān , "pleasant"): A descendant of Seir, the Horite ( Genesis 36:26 ). Wrongly translated "Amram" by the King James Version in 1 Chronicles 1:41 (the Revised Version (British and American) "Hamran"), where the transcribers made an error in one vowel and one consonant, writing ( חמרן , ḥamrān ), instead of (חמדּן , ḥemdān ).
