an Italian theologian and scholar, was born at Mantua in 1732. He taught rhetoric and classics in several colleges, and philosophy at Perugia. Being a Jesuit, he retired to his native place during the time of the suppression of his order, and devoted himself to the performance of literary labor and of his priestly functions.
