Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

is a term given to certain clerical officers in a cathedral or collegiate church. Such still exist at St. Paul's Cathedral, London, at Compostella, and in other continental churches. (See CARDINAL ALTAR).
