Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Hebrews Kelub´, כְּליּב, a cage, as in Jeremiah 5:27), the name of two men.

1. (Sept. Χαλέβ .) The; brother of Shuah and rather of Mehir, of the tribe of Judah (1 Chronicles 4:11). B.C. appar. ante 1612.

2. (Sept. Χελούβ .) The father of Ezri, which latter was David's chief gardener (1 Chronicles 27:26). B.C. ante 1014.
