Chicken
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
(νοσσίον , pullus), a word that occurs but twice in the English Bible (2 Esdras 1:30; Matthew 23:37), and only in allusion to "a hen (q.v.) gathering her chickens under her wings." (See FOWL).
