Clerici Acephali
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a name given to vagrant clergymen in the Romish Church, or such ecclesiastics and monks as wander about from one district to another. In 850 the Council of Pavia issued an edict against them.
