Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in New York city, June 25, 1794. He labored at sailmaking in his youth, became a member of the John Street Methodist Church in 1810, removed to Cincinnati in 1811, and with his father engaged in the fanning business; served in the war of 1812, received license to preach in 1188, and in 1819 entered the Ohio Conference. In 1848 he became superannuated, which relation he sustained until his death, March 8, 1875. Mr. Collard lived an eventful, zealous, faithful life. He was eminently genial and companionable.
