was also the name of two early English abbots:

1. Of Malmesbury, in the latter part of the 8th century.

2. Of Jarrow and Wearmouth, in the same century. He was a disciple of Bede, and several of his Letters are extant. See Smith, Dict. of Christ. Biog. s.v.
