bishop of Milan, was called to that see in 527. He exhorted the inhabitants of that city to defend themselves against the Goths, and on its capture took refuge at Corinth. He afterwards went to Constantinople, where the emperor, Justinian, who had published a constitution prejudicial to the clergy, wished him to sign it, but the prelate stoutly refused.
