an English Baptist missionary, was born in Sunderland, November 14, 1816. For a time he was a Methodist local preacher, but in 1836 united wit the Scotch Baptist Church in his native town. In December 1840, he was publicly, set apart for evangelical work in Jamaica, and embarked for the field of his labor in January 1841, but died there October 11 following. See (Lond.)
