a Unitarian minister, was born at Reading, Massachusetts, December 10, 1779. He studied under the Reverend Eliab Stone, and graduated from Harvard College in 1802; was engaged for a year or two as principal of an academy at Andover; then became a student of theology under the Rev. Joshua Bates, of Dedham. In due time he was licensed to preach; was ordained pastor of the Congregational society in East Bridgewater, October 29, 1806; resigned in 1821; was installed September 19 of that year over the East Society in Salem, and died there, March 4, 1855.
