Griswold, Rufus Wilmot, D.D.

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Baptist minister and writer, who was born February 15,1815, at Benson, Rutland County, Vermont, and died in New York, August 27, 1857, was literary manager of a number of journals in several of the principal cities of the Union, such as, The New-Yorker, The Brother Jonathan, and The New World; in 1842 and 1843 editor of Graham's Magazine; and from August 1850, to April 1852, conducted the International Magazine.
