Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Ι᾿δουῆλος ), the second named of the leading Jews sent by Ezra to procure the aid of the priests in the return from exile (1 Esdras 8:43); evidently the ARIEL (See ARIEL) (q.v.) of the Hebrew text (Ezra 8:16).
