Jakobi, Adam Friedrich Ernst

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born October 27, 1733. He studied at Jena, acted for some time as private tutor, went in 1763 as military chaplain to Holland, and was in 1775 appointed superintendent by duke Ernest of Gotha, Jakobi died April 3, 1807. He wrote, Diss. Theologica de Peccatis Apostolorum Actualibus (Jena, 1754): Exercitatio Exegetico- Theologica de Monogamia (Gotha. 1776), besides a number of historical and pedagogical works.
