Jesse, Tree of

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

in ecclesiastical architecture, is a representation of the genealogy of Christ on scrolls of foliage so arranged as to represent a tree, and was quite a common subject for sculpture, painting, and embroidery.
