an Episcopal minister, was born at Charleston, S.C., August 10, 1798. He graduated from the General Theological Seminary in 1828, and in October of that year was ordained deacon, and took charge of St. David's Church, Cheraw, S.C. Having been ordained to the priesthood, March 14, 1830, he continued there until 1841, when he was called to the organization and care of a city mission, worshipping in St. John's Chapel, Charleston.
