a French theologian, was born in 1681, at Toulouse, of an ancient noble family. At an early age he took the monastic vow with the Dominicans, and, after having completed his education, he taught at Limoges and in the Univiersity of Toulouse. In 1706 he was nominated superintendent of the order in France, and in 1716 was made successor to the general of the order in a professorship at Toulouse. He died there Nov. 3, 1731.
