a distinguished minister of the Reformed (Dutch) Church, was born at Catskill N.Y., in 1788. He graduated at Union College in 1809; at the Associate Reformed Theological Seminary in 1813, and at New Brunswick Theological Seminary in. 1814, when he was licensed by the Classis of New Brunswick. He was pastor at Schenectady, N.Y., from 1815 to 1849, when he removed to Albany, and employed his time in preaching in the city and surrounding country, and in literary work. In 1868 he removed to Auburn, where he spent the remainder of his days among his children. He died Sept. 15, 1871, He published Memoirs of John M.
