Vicar Forane
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
(vicarius foraneus, lit. "vicar out of doors") is the delegate of a bishop who exercises certain episcopal rights in a part of the diocese only. Such officers are not provided for all dioceses.
