brother of Christian, and the first-born son of Johann Georg (q.v.), was born in 1725. In 1750 he became professor of philosophy, and later of oratory and poetry. He was a man of wide philological and antiquarian learning, and also versed in physics. He published, Diss. in Acta Apostol.
