A virgin queen of the Volsci, one of the heroines in the "Æneid," noted for her preter natural fleetness on the racecourse, and her grace; also a sister of the Horatii (q. v .), killed by her brother because she wept at the death of her affiancé, one of the Curiatii ( q. v .), whom the Horatii slew.
