First part of the day by modern reckoning. Morning can refer to the time before dawn (Mark 1:35; compare Genesis 44:3 ), to dawn (Genesis 19:15; Genesis 29:25; Judges 16:2 ), or to some time after sunrise. Morning is frequently paired with evening (Genesis 1:5 ,Genesis 1:5,1:8 ) to indicate a complete day. The coming of morning serves as a figure for joy (Psalm 30:5 ) or vindication (Psalm 49:14 ) which comes quickly.
