1: φλόξ

(Strong's #5395 — Noun Feminine — phlox — flox )

akin to Lat. fulgeo, "to shine," is used apart from pur, "fire," in Luke 16:24; with pur, it signifies "a fiery flame," lit., "a flame of fire," Acts 7:30; 2 Thessalonians 1:8 , where the fire is to be understood as the instrument of Divine judgment; Hebrews 1:7 , where the meaning probably is that God makes His angels as active and powerful as a "flame" of fire; in Revelation 1:14; 2:18; 19:12 , of the eyes of the Lord Jesus as emblematic of penetrating judgment, searching out evil.
