there is nothing outside a person that by going in can defile, but the things that come out are what defile." For it is from within, from the human heart, that evil intentions come: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, folly. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person." From there he set out and went away to the region of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know he was there. Yet he could not escape notice, but a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately heard about him, and she came and bowed down at his feet. Now the woman was a Gentile, of Syrophoenician origin. She begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter. He said to her, "Let the children be fed first, for it is not fair to take the children's food and throw it to the dogs." But she answered him, "Sir, even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs." Then he said to her, "For saying that, you may go—the demon has left your daughter." So she went home, found the child lying on the bed, and the demon gone. Then he returned from the region of Tyre, and went by way of Sidon towards the Sea of Galilee, in the region of the Decapolis. They brought to him a deaf man who had an impediment in his speech; and they begged him to lay his hand on him. He took him aside in private, away from the crowd, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat and touched his tongue. Then looking up to heaven, he sighed and said to him, "Ephphatha," that is, "Be opened." And immediately his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly. Then Jesus ordered them to tell no one; but the more he ordered them, the more zealously they proclaimed it. They were astounded beyond measure, saying, "He has done everything well; he even makes the deaf to hear and the mute to speak."

From there he set out and went away to the region of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know he was there. Yet he could not escape notice,

Then he said to them, "Do you not yet understand?"

He said, "Abba, Father, for you all things are possible; remove this cup from me; yet, not what I want, but what you want."

yet Elijah was sent to none of them except to a widow at Zarephath in Sidon.

Simon answered, "Master, we have worked all night long but have caught nothing. Yet if you say so, I will let down the nets."

I tell you, among those born of women no one is greater than John; yet the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."

‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has come near.'

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God's sight.

Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!

Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.

Yet today, tomorrow, and the next day I must be on my way, because it is impossible for a prophet to be killed outside of Jerusalem.'

But he answered his father, ‘Listen! For all these years I have been working like a slave for you, and I have never disobeyed your command; yet you have never given me even a young goat so that I might celebrate with my friends.

yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice, so that she may not wear me out by continually coming.'"

I tell you, he will quickly grant justice to them. And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

"Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me; yet, not my will but yours be done."

He was in the world, and the world came into being through him; yet the world did not know him.

And Jesus said to her, "Woman, what concern is that to you and to me? My hour has not yet come."

Jesus answered him, "Are you a teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things?
