Children, let us not love with word, nor with tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, if they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son a propitiation for our sins.

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has torment, and he that fears has not been made perfect in love.

Who is he that gets the victory over the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

This is he that came by water and blood, Jesus [the] Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness, for the Spirit is the truth.

We know that every one begotten of God does not sin, but he that has been begotten of God keeps himself, and the wicked [one] does not touch him.

See to yourselves, that we may not lose what we have wrought, but may receive full wages.

Having many things to write to you, I would not with paper and ink; but hope to come to you, and to speak mouth to mouth, that our joy may be full.

I wrote something to the assembly; but Diotrephes, who loves to have the first place among them, receives us not.

Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He that does good is of God. He that does evil has not seen God.

I had many things to write to thee, but I will not with ink and pen write to thee;

The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth. Beloved, I desire that in all things thou shouldest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers. For this reason, if I come, I will bring to remembrance his works which he does, babbling against us with wicked words; and not content with these, neither does he himself receive the brethren; and those who would he prevents, and casts [them] out of the assembly. Demetrius has witness borne to him by all, and by the truth itself; and *we* also bear witness, and thou knowest that our witness is true. But I would put you in remembrance, you who once knew all things, that the Lord, having saved a people out of [the] land of Egypt, in the second place destroyed those who had not believed.

And angels who had not kept their own original state, but had abandoned their own dwelling, he keeps in eternal chains under gloomy darkness, to [the] judgment of [the] great day;

But Michael the archangel, when disputing with the devil he reasoned about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a railing judgment against [him], but said, [The] Lord rebuke thee.

But these, whatever things they know not, they speak railingly against; but what even, as the irrational animals, they understand by mere nature, in these things they corrupt themselves.
