You also are saved in that very manner by baptism, not merely by washing the filth from the body, but by confessing God with a clean conscience, and by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

That he should no longer live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

But the end of all things is at hand: be devout therefore, and be mindful of prayer.

But rejoice, for you are partakers of Christ''s sufferings; and when his glory shall be revealed you may be glad also with exceeding joy.

But let none of you suffer the fate of a murderer, or a thief, or a malefactor.

If any man suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed: but let him glorify God through that very name.

Feed the flock of God which is entrusted to your care and shepherd them spiritually, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but with all your heart.

Live not as overlords over the flock, but as good examples to them.

But the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, whom God has given to us; will strengthen us to endure these little afflictions that we may be made steadfast and remain in him for ever.

But he who lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

For the prophecy did not come by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke when they were inspired by the Holy Spirit.

BUT there were false prophets also among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the LORD who has redeemed them, and thus bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

God did not spare the angels, who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for tormenting judgment;

And did not spare the old world, but saved Noah the preacher of righteousness, with his family, eight in all, when he brought the flood upon the wicked people;

But these men, as natural brute beasts, made for slaughter and destruction, speak evil of the things which they do not understand; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

But who was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb ass, speaking with man''s voice, halted the folly of the prophet.

For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the sensual lusts of the flesh; but there are those who flee at a word of warning from those who live in error.

IT has been a long time since I have writ ten you, my beloved, but now I write you this second epistle; in both of them I have endeavored to stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

But the present heavens and earth are sustained by his word, and are reserved for fire on the day of judgment which is the day of destruction of ungodly men.

But, my beloved, do not forget this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
