And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering to Yahweh.

And Abel, he also brought of the firstborns of his flock and of the fat thereof. And Yahweh had respect to Abel and to his offering:

And Yahweh said to Cain, Why are you angry? and why is your countenance fallen?

And Yahweh said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I don't know: am I my brother's keeper?

And Cain said to Yahweh, My punishment is greater than I can bear.

And Yahweh said to him, Therefore whoever slays Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And Yahweh appointed a sign for Cain, lest anyone finding him should smite him.

And Cain went out from the presence of Yahweh, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he named him Enosh. Then it was begun to call on the name of Yahweh.

and he named him Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, [which comes] because of the ground which Yahweh has cursed.

And Yahweh said, My spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh: and his days shall be 120 years.

And Yahweh saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

And it repented Yahweh that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

And Yahweh said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the ground; both man and beast, and creeping things, and birds of the heavens; for it repents me that I have made them.

But Noah found favor in the eyes of Yahweh.

And Yahweh said to Noah, Come you and all your house into the ark; for you I have seen righteous before me in this generation.

And Noah did according to all that Yahweh commanded him.

And those that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God commanded him: and Yahweh shut him in.

And Noah built an altar to Yahweh, and took of every clean beast, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt-offerings on the altar.

And Yahweh smelled the sweet savor; and Yahweh said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground anymore for man's sake, because the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite anymore everything living, as I have done.

And he said, Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Shem; And let Canaan be his slave.
