For if the trumpet gives an uncertain voice, who shall prepare himself for war?

So also you, unless you utter by the tongue speech easy to understand, how shall it be known what is spoken? for you will be speaking into the air.

For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.

For you truly give thanks well, but the other is not edified.

Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those that believe, but to the unbelieving: but prophesying [is for a sign], not to the unbelieving, but to those that believe.

For you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be exhorted;

for God is not [a God] of confusion, but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,

let the women keep silent in the churches: for it is not permitted to them to speak; but let them be in subjection, as also the law says.

And if they want to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home: for it is shameful for a woman to speak in the church.

For I delivered to you first of all that which also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

For if the dead are not raised, neither has Christ been raised:

For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead.

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

For he must reign, until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he says, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who subjected all things to him.

Or else what will they do that are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?

If after the manner of men I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.

Awake to soberness righteously, and don't sin; for some have no knowledge of God: I speak [this] to move you to shame.

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.
