Everyone will be ashamed because of a people who cannot be of help to them. They do not bring help or riches, but only shame."

So the Holy One of Israel says, "Because you have turned away from this Word, and have put your trust in a power that makes it hard for others and fools them,

"His safe place will pass away because of fear. And his rulers will be afraid of the flags lifted up," says the Lord, Whose fire is in Zion and Whose place of burning is in Jerusalem.

because the king's house will be empty. The city full of people will be left empty. The hill and the watch-tower will become a place for wild animals forever, a happy place for wild donkeys, a field for flocks.

And Isaiah said to them, "Tell your king, ‘This is what the Lord says. "Do not be afraid because of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have spoken against Me.

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent word to Hezekiah, saying, "This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says, ‘Because you have prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria,

Because of your anger against Me, and because I have heard of your pride, I will put My hook in your nose, and My bit in your mouth. And I will make you return the way you came.

"But what can I say? For He has spoken to me, and He Himself has done it. I will walk with care all my years because my soul is bitter.

Lift up your eyes and see. Who has made these stars? It is the One Who leads them out by number. He calls them all by name. Because of the greatness of His strength, and because He is strong in power, not one of them is missing.

Because He is right and good, the Lord was pleased to make the Law great and give it honor.

The Lord Who bought you and sets you free, the Holy One of Israel, says, "Because of you I have sent to Babylon, and will bring down all their leaders, even the Babylonians, into the ships in which they find joy.

"I, even I, am the One Who takes away your sins because of Who I am. And I will not remember your sins.

You have not heard. You have not known. Even from long ago your ear has not been open, because I knew that you could not be trusted. You have been known to fight against the law and not obey from birth.

Because of My name I hold back My anger. For My praise I keep Myself from cutting you off.

This is what the Lord, the One Who saves Israel, and its Holy One, says to the hated One, to the One hated by the nations, to the Servant of rulers: "Kings will see and rise up. Rulers will also bow down, because of the Lord Who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel Who has chosen You."

Why was there no man when I came? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Is My hand so short that it cannot pay for your life? Have I no power to take you out of trouble? See, I dry up the sea with My sharp words. I make the rivers a desert. Their fish smell bad because they do not have enough water, and die of thirst.

that you have forgotten the Lord Who made you? He spread out the heavens and put the earth in its place. Why do you live in fear all day long because of the anger of the one who makes it hard for you as he makes ready to destroy? But where is his anger?

He will surprise many nations. Kings will shut their mouths because of Him. What they had never been told about Him, they will see. And what they had never heard about Him, they will understand.

He was taken away as a prisoner and then judged. Who among the people of that day cared that His life was taken away from the earth? He was hurt because of the sin of the people who should have been punished.

But it was the will of the Lord to crush Him, causing Him to suffer. Because He gives His life as a gift on the altar for sin, He will see His children. Days will be added to His life, and the will of the Lord will do well in His hand.
