Why the Law then? It was added because of trespasses, having been ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator, until the seed would come to whom the promise had been made.

And because you are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!"

But you know that it was because of a bodily illness that I proclaimed the gospel to you the first time;

but I could wish to be present with you now and to change my tone, because I am perplexed about you.

But God, being rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us,

being darkened in their mind, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart.

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

because we are members of His body.

because of your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now.

For it is only right for me to think this way about you all, because I have you in my heart, since both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are fellow partakers with me in this grace.

and that most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord because of my chains, have far more courage to speak the word of God without fear.

holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to boast because I did not run in vain nor labor in vain.

because he was longing for you all and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick.

because he came close to death for the work of Christ, risking his life to fulfill what was lacking in your service to me.

More than that, I count all things to be loss because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ

because of the hope laid up for you in heaven, of which you previously heard in the word of truth, the gospel

In this way, having fond affection for you, we were pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become beloved to us.

For what thanks can we render to God for you in return for all the joy with which we rejoice before our God because of you,

and that no man transgress and defraud his brother in the matter because the Lord is the avenger in all these things, just as we also told you before and solemnly warned you.
