You know how that David my father could not build a house for the name of Yahweh his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until Yahweh put them under the soles of his feet.

And, look, I purpose to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God, as Yahweh spoke to David my father, saying, Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, he shall build the house for my name.

Now therefore command that they cut for me cedar-trees out of Lebanon; and my slaves shall be with your slaves; and I will give you wages for your slaves according to all that you shall say: for you know that there is not among us any that knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.

My slaves shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea; and I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you shall appoint me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you shall receive them; and you shall accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.

And Solomon gave Hiram twenty cors of wheat for food to his household, and twenty cors of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.

And the house which king Solomon built for Yahweh, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the width thereof twenty [cubits], and the height thereof thirty cubits.

And for the house he made windows of fixed lattice-work.

The nethermost story was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for on the outside he made offsets [in the wall] of the house round about, that [the beams] should not have hold in the walls of the house.

The entrance for the middle story was on the right side of the house: and they went up by winding stairs into the middle [story], and out of the middle into the third.

And he built twenty cubits on the hinder part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the walls [of the ceiling]: he built [them] for it inside, for an oracle, even for the most holy place.

And for the entrance of the oracle he made doors of olive-wood: the lintel [and] door-posts were a fifth part [of the wall].

So also he made for the entrance of the temple door-posts of olive-wood, out of a fourth part [of the wall];

For he built the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was a hundred cubits, and the width thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, on four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams on the pillars.

And his house where he was to dwell, the other court inside the porch, was of like work. He also made a house for Pharaoh's daughter (whom Solomon had taken as wife), like this porch.

For he fashioned the two pillars of bronze, eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits compassed either of them about.

There were nets of checker-work, and wreaths of chain-work, for the capitals which were on the top of the pillars; seven for the one capital, and seven for the other capital.

So he made the pillars; and there were two rows round about on the one network, to cover the capitals that were on the top of the pomegranates: and so he did for the other capital.

And under the brim of it round about there were knops which did compass it, for ten cubits, compassing the sea round about: the knops were in two rows, cast when it was cast.

And Hiram made the basins, and the shovels, and the basins. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he wrought for king Solomon in the house of Yahweh:

and the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks; two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the pillars;
