"Don't buy a bunch of saddles and tradin' spurs here on earth so that people will think highly of you. The saddles will eventually rot and the spurs will rust if someone doesn't break into your barn and steal 'em first.

Then the people brought him a possessed man who couldn't talk or see. Jesus healed him completely so that he was no longer possessed, nor blind or mute.

He told 'em, "Let's go somewhere private so we can all talk and rest up." There were tons of people hanging around and wanting to hear everything Jesus and his cowboys were saying; so much so that they hadn't even had a chance to get a bite to eat.

Then Jesus started his ride into Jerusalem and people honored him by throwing their own coats on the ground so that even the colt's feet that carried him wouldn't touch the dirt. Some people even cut branches off of nearby trees and laid them down in the road for Jesus's mount to walk on.

I was very careful so that you would know that what I write is the truth.

John told a bunch of different stories in a bunch of different ways so that people could get the idea about the good news that had arrived.

Then Jesus asked, "Would you light a lamp and then stick it in your bedroll? Of course not. A lamp is lifted up high so that its light can shine far.

"No one lights an oil lamp at night and then puts a hat over it. They will put it on a high shelf so that it can shine for everyone to see.

But I have talked to my Dad about you so that he will strengthen you in the days to come and you will be filled with courage after you fail. When you come back to me, be there for your brothers who you ride with and encourage them."

God gave John a message to give to everyone else so that they would become believers.

After everyone had eaten their fill, Jesus told his cowboys, "Gather up the leftovers so that nothing goes to waste."

They pondered this for a second and then someone shouted out, "Well, show us a miracle so that we know you are the Top Hand. We want to see what you can do. I mean, our ancestors got to eat bread from heaven while they rode across the desert.

You say that you circumcise on the Sabbath so that the child will follow the teachings of Moses, but then you get mad at me for healing a man's whole body on the same day. You cut off a piece of man on the Sabbath and call it holy, but I make them whole, and you call me possessed.

The man replied, "Tell me who he is and show him to me so that I can ride for him."
