מַרְחֶשְׁוָן

The prayer offered with trust will heal the one who is ill (James 5:15).

Do you want more faith? The solution is not as mysterious as you might think. Faith comes from the Word of God abiding within us. Whether it comes from the gospel, a promise of God, or a statement about the character of God, faith rises in our hearts when the Word of God takes root within us. As we meditate on God's Word and allow it to trickle down into our hearts, the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) produces faith within. Andrew Murray saw the truth of this when he wrote, "I did not understand that the secret of faith is this: There can be only as much faith as there is of the living Word dwelling in the soul."

Our forefathers understood this principle, as they often reminded God in their prayers: "Do as you have said," and "For you have spoken it." The Word gave them a reason to believe that their prayers would be answered. Let us recognize that our willingness to embrace God's words will determine the power that our words have with him in prayer.

...store up God's Word in my heart that I might have greater faith to pray.
