סִיוָן

He explained to them the things that can be found throughout the Tanakh concerning himself (Luke 24:27).

We need to assert our confidence in the prophecies concerning Messiah in the Jewish Scriptures. Many rabbis and anti-missionaries have tried to discount the evidence for the Messiahship of Yeshua. But they have to do some fancy footwork to come to that conclusion. Yeshua opened the eyes of the disciples on the road to Amma'us (Emmaus) by instructing them in the prophecies and Scriptures of the coming of Messiah. Wouldn't you love to have been able to sit in on that discipleship session?

I used to distribute a pamphlet entitled, "The Law and the Prophets at the Flatbush Yeshiva." The pamphlet posed a scenario where various Bible characters were applying for admission to the Flatbush Yeshivah (rabbinical school). Each character was given the final question, "What do you believe about Jesus?" Moshe (Moses) answered the question by quoting Deuteronomy 18:18, "I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their kinsmen." Moshe was expelled from the yeshivah. King David answered the question by quoting Psalm 110:1, "Adonai says to my Lord, 'Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.'" David was expelled. Micah answered by quoting Micah 5:2(1), "But you, Beit-Lechem [Bethlehem]...out of you will come forth to me the future ruler of Isra'el ..." Isaiah was asked and answered with Isaiah 53:5, "But he was ...crushed because of our sins ...and by his bruises we are healed." These and other Bible characters interviewed were dismissed for citing evidence that Yeshua is Messiah.

Brothers and sisters, we stand in good company by believing in Yeshua. Let's renew our confidence in the Word of God—the predictions of the Hebrew prophets and the proclamations of the Brit Chadashah (New Covenant Scriptures). Messiah has come!

...renew my confidence in Yeshua as the one who fulfilled all the promises of the prophets of Israel.
