The sons of Joel: Shemaiah, his son; Gog, his son; Shimei, his son;

Micah, his son; Reaiah, his son; Baal, his son;

Beerah, his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria exiled. He was ruler of the men of Reuben.

And his brothers by their families, in the genealogy of their generations: Jeiel the chief; also Zechariah;

and Bela, the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who lived in Aroer, even to Nebo and Baal-meon.

And he lived as far to the east as to the entrance of the wilderness from the Euphrates River, because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, and they fell by their hand. And they lived in their tents, to all the face of the east of Gilead.
