Preeminence
Vine's Expository Dictionary of NT Words
"to be first" (protos), "to be preeminent," is used of Christ in relation to the Church, Colossians 1:18 .
lit., "to love to be preeminent" (philos, "loving"), "to strive to be first," is said of Diotrephes, 3 John 1:9 .
