Martyr, born northern England, c.1549;died Tyburn, England, 1581. He was educated at Cambridge, entered Douai College, 1576, and was ordained at Cambrai, 1577. Arriving in England, he was arrested, imprisoned, tortured, and hanged. Beatified, 1888.
