Prefer, Preferring
Vine's Expository Dictionary of NT Words
"to go before and lead," is used in Romans 12:10 , in the sense of taking the lead in showing deference one to another, "(in honor) preferring one another."
Notes: (1) In John 1:15,30 , AV, ginomai, "to become," is translated "is preferred" (RV, "is become"); some mss. have it again in ver. 27. (2) For prokrima, 1 Timothy 5:21 (AV, "preferring one before another"), see PREJUDICE. Copyright Statement
