Name borne by two persons mentioned in the Old Testament probably an abbreviation, or corruption, of Paltiel . 1. Son of Raphu, of the tribe of Benjamin one of the twelve spies ( Numbers 13:9 ). 2. Second husband of Michal, daughter of Saul, and wife of David ( 1Samuel 25:44 ) in 2Samuel 3:15 the name is given as "Phaltiel" ("Paltiel" in the Hebrew).
