Oh, I love to play on the road. I really love it.

I always wanted to play music and have it be my career and knew this by the age of 12.

You play. You win. You play. You lose. You play.

I play drums, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, piano.

I do play drums when I'm on tour.

To play June, I had an immediate connect with her background and culture. We grew up with the same religion and shared a lot of the same values of family and spirituality. But I was really so inspired by what a modern woman she was.

The best thing I ever heard was in the '60s. I heard Jimi Hendrix play 'I Can Hear The Grass Grow' after a rehearsal, and it was brilliant.

I named it that because more or less each person from the band used to play in other bands and when we left respective bands other members from those bands all sort of changed round. It was a big sort of move thing. I got it from that, I suppose.

I was only in one play at Steppenwolf, in the early days.
