A Psalm of David.

^[a](a)Vindicate me, O Lord , for I have ^(b)walked in my integrity, And I have ^(c)trusted in the Lord ^[b](d)without wavering.

^(e)Examine me, O Lord , and try me; ^(f)Test my ^[c]mind and my heart.

For Your ^(g)lovingkindness is before my eyes, And I have ^(h)walked in Your ^[d]truth.

I do not ⁽ⁱ⁾sit with ^[e]deceitful men, Nor will I go with ^[f](j)pretenders.

I ^(k)hate the assembly of evildoers, And I will not sit with the wicked.

I shall ^(l)wash my hands in innocence, And I will go about ^(m)Your altar, O Lord ,

That I may proclaim with the voice of ⁽ⁿ⁾thanksgiving And declare all Your ^[g]wonders.

O Lord , I ^(o)love the habitation of Your house And the place ^[h]where Your ^(p)glory dwells.

^(q)Do not ^[i]take my soul away along with sinners, Nor my life with ^(r)men of bloodshed,

In whose hands is a ^(s)wicked scheme, And whose right hand is full of ^(t)bribes.

But as for me, I shall ^(u)walk in my integrity; ^(v)Redeem me, and be gracious to me.

^(w)My foot stands on a ^(x)level place; In the ^(y)congregations I shall bless the Lord .

A Psalm of David.

The Lord is my ^(a)light and my ^(b)salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the ^[a](c)defense of my life; ^(d)Whom shall I dread?

When evildoers came upon me to ^(e)devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they ^(f)stumbled and fell.

Though a ^(g)host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In spite of this I ^[b]shall be ^(h)confident.

⁽ⁱ⁾One thing I have asked from the Lord , that I shall seek: That I may ^(j)dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold ^(k)the ^[c]beauty of the Lord And to ^[d](l)meditate in His temple.

For in the ^(m)day of trouble He will ⁽ⁿ⁾conceal me in His ^[e]tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will ^(o)hide me; He will ^(p)lift me up on a rock.

And now ^(q)my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, And I will offer in His tent ^(r)sacrifices ^[f]with shouts of joy; I will ^(s)sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord .

^(t)Hear, O Lord , when I cry with my voice, And be gracious to me and ^(u)answer me.

When You said, "^(v)Seek My face," my heart said to You, "Your face, O Lord , ^(w)I shall seek."

^(x)Do not hide Your face from me, Do not turn Your servant away in ^(y)anger; You have been ^(z)my help; ^(aa)Do not abandon me nor ^(ab)forsake me, O God of my salvation!

^[g]For my father and ^(ac)my mother have forsaken me, But ^(ad)the Lord will take me up.

^(ae)Teach me Your way, O Lord , And lead me in a ^(af)level path Because of ^[h]my foes.

Do not deliver me over to the ^[i](ag)desire of my adversaries, For ^(ah)false witnesses have risen against me, And such as ^(ai)breathe out violence.

^[j]I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the ^(aj)goodness of the Lord In the ^(ak)land of the living.

^(al)Wait for the Lord ; Be ^(am)strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord .

To You, O Lord , I call; My ^(a)rock, do not be deaf to me, For if You ^(b)are silent to me, I will become like those who ^(c)go down to the pit.

Hear the ^(d)voice of my supplications when I cry to You for help, When I ^(e)lift up my hands ^(f)toward ^[a]Your holy ^(g)sanctuary.

^(h)Do not drag me away with the wicked And with those who work iniquity, Who ⁽ⁱ⁾speak peace with their neighbors, While evil is in their hearts.

Requite them ^(j)according to their work and according to the evil of their practices; Requite them according to the deeds of their hands; Repay them their ^[b]recompense.

Because they ^(k)do not regard the works of the Lord Nor the deeds of His hands, He will tear them down and not build them up.

Blessed be the Lord , Because He ^(l)has heard the voice of my supplication.

The Lord is my ^(m)strength and my ⁽ⁿ⁾shield; My heart ^(o)trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore ^(p)my heart exults, And with ^(q)my song I shall thank Him.

The Lord is ^[c]their ^(r)strength, And He is a ^[d](s)saving defense to His anointed.

^(t)Save Your people and bless ^(u)Your inheritance; Be their ^(v)shepherd also, and ^(w)carry them forever.

^(a)Ascribe to the Lord , O ^[a]sons of the mighty, Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.

Ascribe to the Lord the glory ^[b]due to His name; Worship the Lord ^(b)in ^[c]holy array.

The ^(c)voice of the Lord is upon the waters; The God of glory ^(d)thunders, The Lord is over ^[d](e)many waters.

The voice of the Lord is ^(f)powerful, The voice of the Lord is majestic.

The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; Yes, the Lord breaks in pieces ^(g)the cedars of Lebanon.

He makes Lebanon ^(h)skip like a calf, And ⁽ⁱ⁾Sirion like a young wild ox.

The voice of the Lord hews out ^[e]flames of fire.

The voice of the Lord ^[f]shakes the wilderness; The Lord shakes the wilderness of ^(j)Kadesh.

The voice of the Lord makes ^(k)the deer to calve And strips the forests bare; And ^(l)in His temple everything says, "Glory!"

The Lord sat as King at the ^(m)flood; Yes, the Lord sits as ⁽ⁿ⁾King forever.

^[g]The Lord will give ^(o)strength to His people; ^[h]The Lord will bless His people with ^(p)peace.

A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David.

I will ^(a)extol You, O Lord , for You have ^(b)lifted me up, And have not let my ^(c)enemies rejoice over me.

O Lord my God, I ^(d)cried to You for help, and You ^(e)healed me.

O Lord , You have ^(f)brought up my soul from ^[a]Sheol; You have kept me alive, ^[b]that I would not ^(g)go down to the pit.

^(h)Sing praise to the Lord , you ⁽ⁱ⁾His godly ones, And ^(j)give thanks to His holy ^[c](k)name.

For ^(l)His anger is but for a moment, His ^(m)favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may ⁽ⁿ⁾last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

Now as for me, I said in my prosperity, "I will ^(o)never be moved."

O Lord , by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong; You ^(p)hid Your face, I was dismayed.

To You, O Lord , I called, And to the Lord I made supplication:

"What profit is there in my blood, if I ^(q)go down to the pit? Will the ^(r)dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?

"^(s)Hear, O Lord , and be gracious to me; O Lord , be my ^(t)helper."

You have turned for me ^(u)my mourning into dancing; You have ^(v)loosed my sackcloth and girded me with ^(w)gladness,

That my ^[d](x)soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will ^(y)give thanks to You forever.

^(a)In You, O Lord , I have taken refuge; Let me never ^(b)be ashamed; ^(c)In Your righteousness deliver me.

^(d)Incline Your ear to me, rescue me quickly; Be to me a ^(e)rock of ^[a]strength, A stronghold to save me.

For You are my ^[b]rock and ^(f)my fortress; For ^(g)Your name's sake You will lead me and guide me.

You will ^(h)pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me, For You are my ⁽ⁱ⁾strength.

^(j)Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have ^(k)ransomed me, O Lord , ^(l)God of ^[c]truth.

I hate those who ^(m)regard ^[d]vain idols, But I ⁽ⁿ⁾trust in the Lord .

I will ^(o)rejoice and be glad in Your lovingkindness, Because You have ^(p)seen my affliction; You have known the troubles of my soul,

And You have not ^(q)given me over into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a large place.

Be gracious to me, O Lord , for ^(r)I am in distress; My ^(s)eye is wasted away from grief, ^(t)my soul and my body also.

For my life is spent with ^(u)sorrow And my years with sighing; My ^(v)strength has failed because of my iniquity, And ^(w)my ^[e]body has wasted away.

Because of all my adversaries, I have become a ^(x)reproach, Especially to my ^(y)neighbors, And an object of dread to my acquaintances; Those who see me in the street flee from me.

I am ^(z)forgotten as a dead man, out of mind; I am like a broken vessel.

For I have heard the ^[f](aa)slander of many, ^(ab)Terror is on every side; While they ^(ac)took counsel together against me, They ^(ad)schemed to take away my life.

But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord , I say, "^(ae)You are my God."

My ^(af)times are in Your hand; ^(ag)Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.

Make Your ^(ah)face to shine upon Your servant; ^(ai)Save me in Your lovingkindness.

Let me not be ^(aj)put to shame, O Lord , for I call upon You; Let the ^(ak)wicked be put to shame, let them ^(al)be silent in ^[g]Sheol.

Let the ^(am)lying lips be mute, Which ^(an)speak arrogantly against the righteous With pride and contempt.

How great is Your ^(ao)goodness, Which You have stored up for those who fear You, Which You have wrought for those who ^(ap)take refuge in You, ^(aq)Before the sons of men!

You hide them in the ^(ar)secret place of Your presence from the ^(as)conspiracies of man; You keep them secretly in a ^[h]shelter from the ^(at)strife of tongues.

^(au)Blessed be the Lord , For He has made ^(av)marvelous His lovingkindness to me in a besieged ^(aw)city.

As for me, ^(ax)I said in my alarm, "I am ^(ay)cut off from before Your eyes"; Nevertheless You ^(az)heard the voice of my supplications When I cried to You.

O love the Lord , all you ^(ba)His godly ones! The Lord ^(bb)preserves the faithful And fully ^(bc)recompenses the proud doer.

^(bd)Be strong and let your heart take courage, All you who ^[i]hope in the Lord .
