Now it happened after many days that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, "Go, present yourself to Ahab, and I will provide rain on the face of the earth."

And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.
So Elijah went to present himself to Ahab. Now the famine was severe in Samaria.

And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria.
Ahab summoned Obadiah, who was in charge of the household. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly;

And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the Lord greatly:
for when Jezebel killed the prophets of the LORD, Obadiah took a hundred prophets and hid them by fifties in a cave, and provided them with bread and water.)

For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the Lord , that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)
Then Ahab said to Obadiah, "Go through the land to all the springs of water and to all the river valleys; perhaps we will find grass and keep the horses and mules alive, and not have to kill some of the cattle."
1 Kings 18:5
And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all brooks: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts.
So they divided the land between them to survey it; Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.
