Now go, write it on a tablet in their presence And inscribe it on a scroll, That it may serve in the time to come As a witness forever.

Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:

For this is a rebellious people, false sons, Sons who refuse to listen To the instruction of the LORD;

That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord :

Who say to the seers, "You must not see visions"; And to the prophets, "You must not prophesy the truth to us. Speak to us pleasant words, Prophesy illusions.

Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

"Get out of the way, turn aside from the path, Stop speaking before us about the Holy One of Israel!"

Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

Therefore this is what the Holy One of Israel says: "Since you have rejected this word And have put your trust in oppression and crookedness, and have relied on them,

Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:

Therefore this wrongdoing will be to you Like a breach about to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose collapse comes suddenly in an instant,

Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.

Whose collapse is like the smashing of a potter's jar, So ruthlessly shattered That a shard will not be found among its pieces To take fire from a hearth Or to scoop water from a cistern."

And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.
