Remember my misery and my homelessness, the wormwood and bitterness.
Lamentations 3:19
Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
My soul certainly remembers, And is bent over within me.
Lamentations 3:20
My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
I recall this to my mind, Therefore I wait.
Lamentations 3:21
This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
The LORD'S acts of mercy indeed do not end, For His compassions do not fail.
Lamentations 3:22
It is of the Lord 's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:23
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
"The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I wait for Him."
Lamentations 3:24
The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD is good to those who await Him, To the person who seeks Him.
Lamentations 3:25
The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
It is good that he waits silently For the salvation of the LORD.
Lamentations 3:26
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord .
It is good for a man to bear The yoke in his youth.
Lamentations 3:27
It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
Let him sit alone and keep quiet, Since He has laid it on him.
Lamentations 3:28
He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.
Let him put his mouth in the dust; Perhaps there is hope.
Lamentations 3:29
He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
Let him give his cheek to the one who is going to strike him; Let him be filled with shame.
Lamentations 3:30
He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.
For the Lord will not reject forever,
Lamentations 3:31
For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
For if He causes grief, Then He will have compassion In proportion to His abundant mercy.
Lamentations 3:32
But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
For He does not afflict willingly Or grieve the sons of mankind.
Lamentations 3:33
For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
To crush under one's feet All the prisoners of the land,
Lamentations 3:34
To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth.
To deprive a man of justice In the presence of the Most High,
Lamentations 3:35
To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
To defraud someone in his lawsuit— Of these things the Lord does not approve.
Lamentations 3:36
To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.
Who is there who speaks and it comes to pass, Unless the Lord has commanded it?
Lamentations 3:37
Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
Is it not from the mouth of the Most High That both adversity and good proceed?
Lamentations 3:38
Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
Of what can any living mortal, or any man, Complain in view of his sins?
Lamentations 3:39
Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
Let's examine and search out our ways, And let's return to the LORD.
Lamentations 3:40
Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord .
We raise our heart and hands Toward God in heaven;
Lamentations 3:41
Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
We have done wrong and rebelled; You have not pardoned.
Lamentations 3:42
We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
You have covered Yourself with anger And pursued us; You have slain and have not spared.
Lamentations 3:43
Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
You have veiled Yourself with a cloud So that no prayer can pass through.
Lamentations 3:44
Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
You have made us mere refuse and rubbish In the midst of the peoples.
Lamentations 3:45
Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.
All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
Lamentations 3:46
All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
Panic and pitfall have come upon us, Devastation and destruction;
Lamentations 3:47
Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.
My eyes run down with streams of water Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Lamentations 3:48
Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
My eyes flow unceasingly, Without stopping,
Lamentations 3:49
Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission.
Until the LORD looks down And sees from heaven.
Lamentations 3:50
Till the Lord look down, and behold from heaven.
My eyes bring pain to my soul Because of all the daughters of my city.
Lamentations 3:51
Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
My enemies without reason Hunted me down like a bird;
Lamentations 3:52
Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.
They have silenced me in the pit And have thrown stones on me.
Lamentations 3:53
They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
Waters flowed over my head; I said, "I am cut off!"
Lamentations 3:54
Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
I called on Your name, LORD, Out of the lowest pit.
Lamentations 3:55
I called upon thy name, O Lord , out of the low dungeon.
You have heard my voice, "Do not cover Your ear from my plea for relief, From my cry for help."
Lamentations 3:56
Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.
You came near on the day I called to You; You said, "Do not fear!"
Lamentations 3:57
Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.
Lord, You have pleaded my soul's cause; You have redeemed my life.
Lamentations 3:58
O Lord , thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
LORD, You have seen my oppression; Judge my case.
Lamentations 3:59
O Lord , thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.
You have seen all their vengeance, All their schemes against me.
Lamentations 3:60
Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
You have heard their reproach, LORD, All their schemes against me.
Lamentations 3:61
Thou hast heard their reproach, O Lord , and all their imaginations against me;
The lips of my assailants and their talk Are against me all day long.
Lamentations 3:62
The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
Look at their sitting and their rising; I am their mocking song.
Lamentations 3:63
Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.
You will repay them, LORD, In accordance with the work of their hands.
Lamentations 3:64
Render unto them a recompence, O Lord , according to the work of their hands.
You will give them shamelessness of heart, Your curse will be on them.
Lamentations 3:65
Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.
You will pursue them in anger and eliminate them From under the heavens of the LORD!
Lamentations 3:66
Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the Lord .
